We are a research lab eager to answer the most difficult questions posed by technological progress in the simplest way possible. Specifically, we work on analysing governance challenges for AI, data, and the internet, examined through the complex relations these technologies share with society, culture, and power. The goal is to make rigorous research both accessible and easy to understand, produced within a decolonial and feminist framework.
Our first project Plot Points will be launched in the summer of 2026! Plot Points is a raw exploration of key AI safety concepts like AI Alignment, Model Welfare, Control, Specification, and more. Through this project, we aim to de-jargon-ify these themes and ask one critical question: what can policymakers actually do with them? Sign up for the Substack here to know when we launch!
The lab was founded by Prabhnoor Kohli in May 2026. Prabhnoor is a researcher in critical technology studies, with a background spanning social sciences and corporate consulting. She is pursuing an MA in Cultural Data and AI at the University of Amsterdam, and is open to research collaborations, fellowships, and freelance roles through plot twist. plot twist has been years in the making; we expect to evolve and change shape over time.
Consider this an open draft, and one of the many privileges of the digital world: an opportunity to learn (and unlearn) in public.
